Traditions in an international environment

The Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park surrounds Ylläs. The Lappish villages of Ylläsjärvi and Äkäslompolo are located on opposing sides of the Ylläs Fell and offer picturesque and traditional village landscapes on the banks of lakes. The villages offer local products and village events with international ambiance. The villages are connected with the Maisematie road (Landscape Road) that rises to a height of 400 metres above sea level.

Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park

Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park was founded on 1 February 2005. The Park is Finland’s third largest national park. The Kellokas Visitor Centre has a nature and culture exhibition with art gallery open throughout the year. Kellokas is also the information office for the Municipality of Kolari.

Laino Snow Village

The Laino Snow Village has a SnowHotel that is slightly different every year, allowing you the chance to stay overnight in a very exotic environment.

Konijänkkä Animal Park

At the Konijänkkä Animal Park you can meet over a hundred animals from horses to a very rare wild boar and ostriches!.
